How I Drink My Coffee On A Busy Morning

You know that joke about how moms have to warm up their coffee like 10 times before they are able to actually drink it? It is so true. And with a toddler and being pregnant with another while also trying to get us all ready for a day at work and school, hot coffee just isn’t in the books very often. So on especially hectic mornings, I reach for a Dunkin’ Donuts Iced Coffee.

You’re probably thinking, “Okay, but it is fall now. Why would you want cold coffee?” Well, the reason is two-fold.

  1. I have switched over to my cold weather breakfast: oatmeal. That means I already have a warm breakfast that pairs fantastically with my iced coffee.
  2. I have an irrational fear of drinking hot things. So even on mornings that I have time for hot coffee, I still have to wait a long time while I wait for my coffee to reach a temperature that I feel comfortable drinking it. Ask Andrew. When we stop for coffee somewhere, he knows to tell me when it has reached optimal temperature. Otherwise I sit in fear as I try to take a tiny taste but keep chickening out for 10 minutes.

Thankfully, Dunkin’ Donuts has come out with four flavors of ready to drink iced coffee that I use to jazz up my mornings. They have Original, Espresso, Mocha, and French Vanilla (my personal fave.) They help me add a little zip to my breakfast, since my oatmeal is a little boring.

My oatmeal is generally oats, water, and brown sugar. After I cook it, I add some milk and, if I’m feeling wild, some bananas. So as you can see, I need something a little fun to go with it. That is where the iced coffee comes in. I don’t have to wait for it to cool down. I can drink it while I get my oatmeal ready.

The other nice thing is how easy it is to pick up while you are shopping. When I am at Cub picking up groceries, I just swing by the Ready-To-Drink Coffee section and grab a few to stick in my fridge to drink with my morning oatmeal or on an afternoon where I need a pick-me-up.

<– This is the aisle I get it from at my local Cub. As you’ll see, it doesn’t actually say coffee, but don’t be fooled. it is definitely there! Once you get to the correct aisle, it is super easy to find! Make sure you find your nearest Cub location to get your coffee too. Dunkin’ Donuts Iced Coffee is also available at Farm Fresh Stores.

The other thing I love about these Dunkin’ Donuts Iced Coffees (I mean besides the great taste and how easy they are to pick up at the grocery store) it is that they are made by Dunkin’ Donuts’ standards which mean that they use real coffee, milk, and sugar.
