Putting Together a Non-Religious Easter Basket

Right now, Andrew and I have agreed to raise our children in a non-religious way until they are old enough to make a decision about their own religious beliefs. That means for some holidays, we search for non-religious ways to celebrate. Christmas is pretty easy. Christmas trees, Santa, and gift-giving are all non-religious. But Easter has been a bit different.

Mac is old enough now to start understanding and celebrating holidays so I wanted to do something to mark Easter since there are aspects that are non-religious. (The Easter bunny, dying eggs, Easter baskets etc.) Once I saw that I See Me! has a selection of personalized Easter books, I knew that was the start of Mac’s Easter basket. (P.S. you can order a personalized Easter book for your little bunny too. They have guaranteed delivery by Easter as long as you order before 4/9!)

When I looked at the different Easter books on I See Me! I loved the variety of religious and non-religious books. I chose to order Mac the Egg-Cellent All-in-One Gift Set. It came with a personalized Easter placemat, personalized Easter stickers, and a personalized Easter coloring book. So cute! I could hardly get Mac to put down the activity book.

Now is the tricky part. What can you add to such a great gift? I hemmed and hawed and finally found a nice selection of other items to add.

I think I pulled together a good selection of items to compliment the Egg-Cellent All-in-One Gift Set. Mac loves puzzles. I wanted to buy her a challenging one, so this 4-in-1 Vehicle Puzzle from Melissa and Doug is perfect. I think it will provide her just the right amount of challenge.

What is a holiday without a good holiday movie? Now, I already own The Easter Bunny is Comin’ to Town. And Mac loves it! So I had to find another good one. I decided on Easter with Max & Ruby. It has a few cute Easter episodes and then a variety or other cute stories. There is also a two pack available with the Easter episode and Springtime episodes.

After getting the activity book with her Easter gift set, I figured I should add another little board book. I found this adorable one called Where are Baby’s Easter Eggs? Mac loves lift the flap book, so I think she will adore helping baby look for her Easter eggs in this cute book.

Spring will hopefully be coming soon, so I always like to add something outdoorsy in the Easter basket. This year, I added a pack of Crayola Dual-Ended Giant Chalk. It is not sold on Amazon, so instead I will link to some Jumbo Sidewalk Chalk.

And what is an Easter basket without a little treat? I’m not one to give my child candy, but I wanted something sweet and fun. I decided on a bag of Annie’s Bunny Grahams. I always love finding a treat that isn’t too bad for you. Let me tell you, even I love to sneak a few sometimes!

So what else do you include in your Easter basket? Remember to order your personalized book by 4/9 for guaranteed Easter delivery.
